Best Choc. Cake

1/1/2 cups semi sweet choc chips
1/2 cup soft butter
16 oz. package light brown sugar
3 large eggs
2 cups flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1 8 oz. sour cream
1 cup hot water
2 t. uanilla (my letter that comes after 'u' is not working!   Haley with popsicle fingers!!)

Melt chips in microwae for 1 1/2 minutes stirring at 30 sec. interals
Beat 1/2 c. butter and light brown sugar at medium speed 4 or 5 minutes til blended.  Add eggs 1 at a a time, beat until just blended after each addition.  Add melted choc. and beat until just blended.  Sift together flour baking soda and salt.  Gradually add to choc mixture alternately with sour cream, begin and end with flour mixture.  Beat at low speed just til blended after each addition.   Gradually add 1 cup hot water in a slow, steady stream, beat at low speed just until blended.  Stir in banilla (is that how the kids say it anyhow?).

Spoon batter into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan.  Bake at 350 for 55 to 65 minutes or until a pick comes out clean.  IMPORTANT:  COOL IN PAN ON A WIRE RACK 10 MINUTES.  REMOE FROM PAN TO WIRE RACK AND COOL COMPLETELY.  Dust with powdered sugar if desired.  I hae also matched it with cherries (used the light pie filling!) Freeze if you like to do ahead in a zip lock bag.
