My M & M's are challenging each other to be more 'intentional' about our worship this Easter season. We are reading the gospel accounts of Jesus' arrest, crucifixion and RESURRECTION as we run up to Resurrection Sunday the end of April. This morning I read Matthew's account. Some of the saddest words that jumped out at me were these:
". . .And all the disciples left Him and fled." Matthew 26:56
They were so human, just like me. They struggled to do the right things, just like me. They watched Him work in lives yet doubted, just like me. They found being faithful hard at times, just like me. They ran away KNOWING Who He is, just like me. They let Him down, just like me.
HE LOVED THEM ANYWAY, just like me.
"And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up His Spirit." Matthew 27:50
"He is not here, for He has risen, as He said." Matthew 28:6
I am so thankful, Lord, just like them!
